Cali Graduates Preschool

Cali graduated preschool on May 20, 2011. We are so proud of our girl! Cali had a wonderful year in preschool! She attended two days a week, we were amazed by how quickly she learned her letters and numbers. She became proficient at writing her name and many other small words. She loves to spell all of our names. She also learned many songs and sings them all day everyday teaching the younger two the lyrics and motions. We could not have asked for two better teachers (Miss Beth and Miss Dawn) for an awesome experience she will not soon forget! She especially love the unit on Butterflies! The pictures above were taken the evening of her graduation ceremony.

Three Amigos

In April, Brandi and Tanner came to Alaska for a visit! Although it seems we can never spend enough time together, we had a great time during their visit. The boys fought over every toy for ten days and they spent many hours getting into things and playing in the cold AK spring weather. We really miss them and wish we didn't live so far apart. We are thankful for the time we did get and will look forward to seeing them again sooner than later!

I feel we as a culture seem to fill our days with the demands of daily life. Not stopping often enough to reflect on the abundance that God has given us. I AM thankful that many Americans this time of year do reflect and tend to re-prioritize so that they can enjoy the things that they are thankful for!

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever ~ Psalm 106:1

Thanksgiving Day is a jewel, to set in the hearts of honest men; but be careful that you do not take the day, and leave out the gratitude. ~E.P. Powell

Giving thanks is very important! Especially in our walk with the Lord. We as Christians should be make it a point to thank God on a daily basis. This is not only helping us stay focused and grateful for what God has brought us through and where he is taking us. It helps in verbalizing our gratitude by speaking well of Him to others. Not only that, raising children in a generation of ungrateful children this gives us as parents the ability to affect change! Tell your children what you are thankful for and encourage them to make their own lists. Rimind them that it is not the "stuff" that is important but relationships and the blessings that God has clearly blessed us with!

With that, I am thankful for my sweet family, My freedom as a citizen of America and the Gift of salvation.

Blessings on this day of giving thanks!

Target Trauma!!!

I had not left the house in what seemed like forever. It took me all day to work up the courage to take the three kids to the store alone!

I decided to forgo dinner at home and feed the kids on the go at Target. As we were getting out of the van I realized that Camri was poopy. If you know my girl, you know that this is never easy. The queen of blow-outs strikes again! Once I changed and re-clothed the baby we made our way into the store.

We got all buckled into the cart and headed for food.

While standing in line, I realize that Connor is beginning to get sick. I have nothing to help me deal with this! I grab the only thing I had his coat. Some random lady stole a cup from behind the food counter and handed it to me. I took it and dashed to the parking lot as fast as I could.

I got the girls back into the van. At this point Cali has begun crying asking me why we are getting back into the car. Telling me that I need to just clean him up and take us back into the store (so compassionate). Luckily, I had a bag in the car that had some scrapbook paper in it. Flinging paper everywhere, I managed to undress the boy and place all of the "contaminated" clothing into the bag. Now what!?! I have nothing for him to hold and get sick in on the way home. I opened the trunk and found a Costco sized box of fruit snacks. I ripped it open, dumped its contents in the back and gave him the box to hold. Then they both started crying because they could not eat the fruit snacks!

I make one last trip to the garbage can and now we are on our way.

The only thing I could do as I drove away was shake my head and laugh. Not only can I not believe that this actually happened... it happened again! Last year (in Target) my Mom and I had a similar experience with Cali! I really hope that we are done doing this in public! I know that I am much more traumatized than he was! ACK!

My sweet boy is now sleeping peacefully in his towel covered bed. Now, all I can do is pray him through the night! Thankfully Daddy comes home tomorrow and I will likely be able to go to the store then!

Thank you Lord that it was not any worse!

Doggy Drama

Cali, much to my dismay...LOVES stuffed animals. At times I feel like they are breeding in the toy box and plotting and planning to take over my house! I have told my parents that they are no longer allowed to buy stuffed toys for my kids. Sorry!

Last Wednesday, we took Kyle into anchorage and ran our "town" errands before taking him to the airport. While at Fred Meyer in Anchorage we found 3 aisles of clearance tables!!! Toys none the less! Knowing their parents have a hard time passing by a good deal, the kids begged us to stop and look. I have no problem saying NO to toys! I HATE toys! I can't remember the last time I gave my kids a toy that was not from McDonald's (friends and family give them enough) ... While Kyle retreated to the restroom I was stuck on the toy aisle. Of course each of them found something scooped it up and could never live without. Instantly I remind them that we are just looking!
Connor found a really cool die-cast Porsche that was about $1.50 when it was all said and done. but of course our sweet eldest daughter is not such a deal finder. Cali found a very cute stuffed puppy that she hugged tightly and kept saying: "I love her, She is my favorite color!" The stupid thing was only $1 off making it about 8 bucks! I told them that they could hold them until Dad came back and when he did they had to put them back and it was time to go.

Quickly, I began to recognize that we would be dropping Daddy off soon, this is always hard for them. Like any good mother would, I realized that this could be a really long hour drive home. Suddenly it hit me, WE MUST BUY THE TOYS!!! It's for Mommy's sanity!

To make a long story even longer. I convinced Kyle to buy the toys! I made a really big deal about it being a special day, and that when they missed their Dad they could hug or play with their toys and know that he loves them! The lady at the store gave them each their own little bag to carry their items in making it that much more special! The kids were grateful and we left the store in a happy mood!

Let me tell you, that was the best $10 we ever spent! We had a nice ride home with their special toys and truthfully, they have not put them down all week! SUCCESS! Thanks Babe!!!

Cali was not napping the other day so I went in to her room to play with her. We set up a puppet show stage.
I began rallying all of her favorite animals for the show but I needed to know their names! I asked her the name of each fuzzy friend and she gave me an answer for every one with out missing a beat! We put on a show (which she thought was hilarious) and had a good time playing together before the other two awoke.

Blogger's Guilt

I think that is is fairly safe to say that up to this point the AK Moffat's blog has been a fail! I would love to have been able to say that you all know what is going on in our lives, and are up to date on our goings-on. Sometimes I question whether or not I have something of value to say or post that others would enjoy. I guess I should look at it as an outlet for me to write and journal the day-to-day of being parents and having 3 babies in a row. Then again, that is why I have no time to do this... Alas, I will give it another go!

Funny Kid Moment:
Cali came into the kitchen today and kicked me for no apparent reason. After I lectured her about not kicking and being nice she said: " Sorry Mom, I guess you will just have to watch out for my loco legs!"

Crazy girl!

As of last week Cali has also begun referring to herself in the third person i.e.; Cali is not tired, Cali want's a snack, Cali wants to turn the music on and dance. Hopefully this will not last too long. :)

Connor also has his fair share of comedic commentary...

Connor: "Mom look at me for a sec." Me: "Yes Connor" Connor: " I need chap-stick for my lips!" Me:"OK" Giving him chap-stick i steal a kiss and he says..."ugh, you are messing up my chap-stick!"

as well as...

Cali: " I wanna do Ring Around the Rosy" Me: "OK" Begin the music... Connor: " Ring around the rosy with lots of macaroni"

As for Camri... She is sweet and smiley. She has gotten quite good at rolling over and babbling loudly. She is now 4 months old and proudly busting out of her 9 month outfits. She is such and angel!

June Already

Its June Third 2008 and time is flying bye, again it has been some time since we have updated you about our goings-on! I will Post more pictures soon!

It's Been a Long Time

Well, again it has been awhile since we have posted. We have een pretty busy with the kids and Kyle's Work schedule.
For Halloween Cali was a Pony and she LOVED her costume we just went around the block and then up to Uncle Luke's House! She didn't eat any of her candy but she is big into sorting it! We got a solid 3 days out of sorting candy into colored piles!

Christmas Was also Busy I went down to my parents house for a week while Kyle was gone and spent Christmas with them. Both kids were really sick and didn't sleep all week! UGGGG! It hard to be away from home especially when they are sick.

The whole month of December they were sick with a respitory virus called RSV so we were in and out of the Dr.'s office every other day, needless to say it was a rough month!

Kyle came home the day after Christmas and we celebrated then it was really fun because Cali was actually interested!

Kyle has been having fun riding his snowmachine and getting it dialed in! He was nice enough to take me with him on two excursions so far and we had an absolute BLAST!

As for me, I have been working out two days a week at the church and have been asked to start teaching classes so I will be getting certified to teach in mid February.

We have also recently stared a Young Married Bible study, we are really enjoying getting to know new couples in our church. We arranged it so that we meet everyother week so Kyle never has to miss one!

The pics that I have posted are a little bit random but hopefully I will become more regular and be able to post one event at a time :)!

Family of 4!!

Sorry for the neglect for everyone who frequents the blog. Our newest big news is of course Connor Ray has arrived!! He came on September 10th at 5:08 P.M. weighing in at 8 pounds even and measured 19.5 inches long. Delivery was a walk in the park compared to Cali, and it only lasted 9 hours versus 19. Nicole only pushed for 3-4 contractions and we had a new baby. They are doing well and Nicole's recovery has been better than expected.

Cali is also doing well as she turned 1 on August 20th. Apparently she had to feel old enough to walk because on day 366, she started walking and has been terrorizing the house ever since! We did have a big birthday party for her and as you see from the pictures below, she had a great time with her very own cake made by one of our friends.

As for the two babies getting along, Cali seems not to care too much so far. She will want to be held more if she sees us paying more attention to him but so far just stealing his pacifier seems good enough.
For the house, we haven't worked on the basement at all and dont plan on it for some time but we did finally get gutters put up and got the driveway paved and thanks to advice from Uncle Jim, we opted for a circular drive!!

Had a fun time with the family celebrating Carly's B-day. Went fishing for Rainbow's on a nearby lake and had a blast as well.

Nicole caught the first fish. Luke bought a little electric trolling motor for a little inflatable raft and all 5 of us piled in.

Summer is on its way and I couldn't be more excited! Cali loves being outside so every day that its nice out we take a stroll around the block. The fresh air is lovely and getting out of the house is even better! Cali just got her first tooth and it is so cute we have yet to get a good pic. of the little bugger but when we do I'm sure it will make the blog! Kyle is away now and we miss him very much when he is away, Daddy adds so much more excitement to our day we can't wait to see him! Every time the phone rings Cali asks... DA DA? As for me and baby #2 we are great, I am feeling really good a bit tired but that comes with the territory! As for baby, he is good too, very active and VERY strong sometimes I think he might tweak a rib!

Well, as of Wennesday April 18, 2007... We are having a BOY! We are very excited and can't wait to meet him but, we are having a hard time comming up with a sutiable name for him. Kyle had one stipulation and that is the middle name must be Ray to carry out the tradition. Please let us know if you have any suggestions we are open to almost anything! Baby boy Moffat should be here around the second week in September!

Hello! I am so excited about our new blog, we will be able to keep you all updated on a regular basis.

Cali is now 7 months and growing like a weed, she is days away from crawling, she keeps us busy and entertained!

For those of you who don't know we are expecting baby#2 in early September. Now that the initial shock has worn off we are looking forward to his/her arrival. They will be 12 months apart and I am sure that Cali will be glad for a play mate!

Kyle was at work last week shoveling snow and his back went out. He has been getting adjustments and massages but could do without the pain.

We are hoping that spring is on its way but have our doubts, to say the least we would like to be WARM.
